Jonny Wilkinson: Has extended his contract with Toulon for another year
Former England fly-half Jonny Wilkinson has extended his contract with Toulon for another year. The 32-year old, who announced his retirement from international rugby on Monday, took up the option for an additional year written into his Toulon contract when he signed two years ago, the club said on its website.
The statement read: "After having taken the decision to stop his international career with England, Jonny Wilkinson has taken another important decision.
"Jonny Wilkinson has officially extended his contract with Rugby Club Toulonnais for an extra season.
"Until now, Wilkinson had a contract until the end of this season, with an option to extend it by another season. This option has been exercised, which means 'Wilko' will be back in the Red and Black in 2013."
He was one of Toulon's best players in Tuesday's 34-12 Top 14 win over Agen, setting up a try for backrower Jone Tawake.
Wilkinson, who famously scored the winning drop goal for England in the 2003 World Cup final, established himself as one of the greatest kickers in rugby union history during a stellar 13-year Test career.
